Pokémon GO players are in for a treat this month, as Fennekin, the Fire-type Fox Pokémon from the Kalos region, will be featured during the Community Day event on May 21. From 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time, Fennekin will appear more frequently in the wild, and lucky players might encounter a shiny Fennekin!
Fennekin is the first stage of a three-stage evolution line that includes Braixen and Delphox. If you evolve Braixen into Delphox during the event or up to two hours afterward, you will get a Delphox that knows the powerful Fire-type Charged Attack Blast Burn. In addition, Delphox will be able to learn Mystical Fire, a Fire-type Charged Attack that was originally its signature move in the main series games.
Mystical Fire will have 60 base power in both PvE and PvP, and will decrease the opponent’s Attack in PvP battles. Blast Burn will have 110 base power in both PvE and PvP. These moves will make Delphox a strong Fire-type attacker that can compete with other popular choices such as Charizard, Blaziken, or Darmanitan
The event will also feature various bonuses to help you catch more Fennekin and power up your Delphox. You will earn three times more Stardust and two times more Candy for catching Pokémon during the event hours. Trainers level 31 and up will also have a two times higher chance to receive Candy XL from catching Pokémon. Lure Modules and Incense activated during the event will last for three hours. You will also be able to obtain five Daily Raid Passes during the event hours and for up to two hours after.
Trades made during the event will require 50% less Stardust, and you will be able to make one additional Special Trade for a maximum of two for the day. These bonuses will be active from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. local time. You can also take a few snapshots during Community Day for a surprise.
If you want to access more content, you can purchase a ticket for US$1.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency) to unlock the Fennekin Community Day–exclusive Special Research story, Fur and Flames. You can also purchase or gift tickets to your friends who have achieved a Friendship level of Great Friends or higher with you.
After the three-hour Community Day event ends, you can still enjoy some bonus Raid Battles from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. local time. During this time, Braixen will appear in four-star Raids, and completing a raid will cause the area surrounding the gym to spawn Fennekin at Community Day levels and with Community Day Shiny rates.
Don’t miss this opportunity to catch Fennekin and add it to your Pokédex. Fennekin Community Day is a great chance to encounter this adorable Fire-type Pokémon and its evolutions. Good luck and happy catching!
